Setting the price

When it comes to price, it’s up to you. Have in mind the quality of the book, your audience and the length of your book. Here is some guidance

Flash Story        1 -1,000 words                             (about 1-2 pages pages)                           $0.00 – $0.99

Short Story        1,000 – 5,000 words                    (about 2-11 pages pages)                         $0.00 – $0.99

Short Story        5,000 – 10,000 words                 (about 11-22 pages pages)                        $0.99 – $1.99

Novella              10,000 – 20,000 words               (about 22-44 pages pages)                       $1.99 – $3.99

Novella              20,000 – 40,000 words               (about 44-89 pages pages)                        $2.99 – $5.99

Novel                 40,000 – 120,000 words             (about 89-267 pages pages)                     $2.99 – $7.99

Trilogy set                                                                                                                                          $9.99

If you want to avoid calculating, you can see your potential profit here, click on this link and use the calculator. You can calculate your income per book, per day/month/year. You can pick two options, 35%, and 70%  royalty.
When it comes to royalties, I would choose 70% because it means more money for you. But there are some conditions:
– Your book has to be between $2.99 and $9.99. So, if you want to publish a short story, I would recommend 35% royalty, because $2.99 would be too much.
– You cannot sell your book anywhere else
– Buyers can lend your book for 14 days, but it also means more readers and reviews
– You will pay for file delivery (use the calculator previously mentioned)
For more information, see this page.
Note: Value your work. If I saw a 40,000 words novel for $0.99, I would never even consider buying it. On the other hand, if you are publishing your first book and you have no audience yet, the odds are you will not sell a lot of copies if your price is $7.99.
